Maintenance Check: Top 4 Things you need to Maintain your Car in Best condition

Here are a few things to remember after purchasing your first dream Car from the  Dealer.

What you want is, it to last as long as possible and as best it can be.

  • During the initial driving period, usually the first 1,000 km, keep the speed under 90 km/min or the speed recommended by your Car manufacturer, it will help to prevent premature failures and abnormal system wear improving the life of the drive train and various car components.
  • Do not exceed the maximum cargo loads on the transmission, such as bike trailers and loading the roof rack, roof boxes or trunk with heavy materials.
  • Don't leave your new car inactive for weeks, especially during the initial driving period. The oil pressure created in this way may not send oil to all parts as the engine was cold. In such cases of long inactivity, let it run for a few minutes before driving to let the oil pressure build-up.
  • Use only the light to medium throttle, keeping the engine speed under 3000 rpm for the first few hours of driving. Typically, engines idle at around 800 rpm while older engines may go up to 1200 rpm before warming up. But if the engine is revving up (accelerating sharply) while idling, even after it’s sufficiently warmed up, you might have a problem.
